Description
Sanctification is the special, extraordinary sequence of the Orthodox Church that recalls the Baptism of Christ in the Jordan River and during which the priest sanctifies the water with wishes, invocation of the Holy Spirit and triple immersion of the Holy Cross in the water. We distinguish two Sanctifications: the Minor Sanctification and the Great Sanctification.
